Business Finance
Named 504 Lender of the Year by the SBA
Matching financial resources with growing companies has been a foundational service of the EDC since its inception nearly two decades ago.

Two of the main financial programs offered by the EDC are 504 loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and industrial revenue bonds issued through the Industrial Development Authority of St. Charles County (IDA).

Since 2000, the EDC’s 504 loan program has issued $93.3 million to business projects throughout Missouri helping to foster total investment of more than $253 million. As a result, nearly 5,900 Missouri jobs were created or retained. In the last decade, the IDA has likewise issued nearly $109 million in bonds to fund 25 manufacturing, not-for-profit, and multi-family projects in St. Charles County. This helped create or retain 1,057 local jobs.

Not surprisingly, EDC’s Small Business Finance Division was named the 504 Lender of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration as part of National Small Business Week 2009, and ranked the No. 1 Lender of Small Business Administration Loans in the 2009 Book of Lists from the St. Louis Business Journal.
